Robe Ann Park - Twenty-five acre City of Greencastle park featuring an Olympic size swimming pool with water slide and diving well, the Emerald Palace community built super playground, picnic areas, lighted ball diamond, and lighted tennis courts.
Big Walnut Sports Park - A City park owned and operated by the Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department. The park features ball diamonds, soccer fields and picnic areas. Several fields are lighted for evening use. A trail is being planned to go around the park and will be called the Sports Park Loop.
Jaycee Park - Twenty-two acre park featuring a fishing pond, picnic areas, and shelter house.
People Pathways
- The Greencastle to Fillmore Trail and the Sports Park link are available for hikers, bikers, in-line skaters, and runners to enjoy.
Putnam County Library - Located in Greencastle, this facility underwent a $2 million expansion project in 1995. The collection of 45,000 volumes and 17 periodicals is available at the library or through the bookmobile.
Putnam County Museum - Just three years old and outgrowing it's present location at 209 West Liberty Street in Greencastle.
Windy Hill Country Club - Nine hole private country club with clubhouse, pro shop, banquet facilities, and swimming pool. The "Links" restaurant.
Clover Meadows Golf Course - Eighteen hole, par 72, 126 yard public course. Located southwest of Cloverdale.
Old Hickory Golf Club - Eighteen hole, par 72 public golf course. Two miles north of Greencastle on US Highway 231.
Lieber State Recreation Area - Eight thousand acre state park featuring a 1,500 acre lake, campsites, beach, swimming pool, and picnic area within a fifteen minute drive from Putnam County.
Area Lakes - Putnam County features several lakes available for recreational boating, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and fishing. These lakes include Cataract, Cecil Hardin, Waveland, Edgewood, Glen Flint, and Heritage Lake. Several of the lakes such as Heritage Lake offer a wide variety of waterfront living.
Motor Sports - Putnam County features two race tracks including Lincoln Park Speedway for sprint cars and modified cars. The Putnam Park Road Course is open for private sports car and road course events.
Indianapolis - Less than one hour away, Indianapolis hosts a wide range of amenities including the arts, concerts, museums, profession sports, and theater.
