*In December 2004, Oxford Automotive announced the closing
of their Greencastle plant. The plant closed in March
of 2005 as a result of a corporate bankruptcy. Over
300 people will be available for work. Nearly 150 live
in Putnam County.
*In August, HAPPICO ceased operations. The
plant and corporate assets were purchased by Chiyoda USA.
Happico employed over 500. Chiyoda will start out
employing approximately 170 to 200. |
